Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to appointments and services provided by Fe’Male Ego Hair & Beauty.

By booking an appointment with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Appointments

Appointments are subject to availability and should be booked in advance where possible. When making an appointment, please provide accurate contact information so that we can contact you about your booking. We may contact you to confirm, amend or discuss your appointment where necessary.

2. Choosing a service

We will do our best to provide the service you request. During your consultation, your stylist or therapist may recommend a different service, treatment or approach if they believe it is more suitable for your hair, skin, previous treatment history or desired result.

For colour correction, major colour changes and other complex services, more than one appointment may sometimes be required.

Additional time or products may also be required for certain services. Where this is likely to materially affect the price, we will discuss this with you before proceeding where reasonably possible.

3. Consultation and suitability

For certain services, we may need to carry out a consultation before treatment.

You must tell us about any relevant:

* Allergies

* Sensitivities

* Medical conditions

* Medications

* Previous reactions

* Previous chemical or cosmetic treatments

* Other circumstances that may affect the suitability or safety of a treatment

Failure to provide relevant information may affect whether we can safely provide the service.

We reserve the right to decline or postpone a treatment where we reasonably believe it would not be appropriate or safe to proceed.

4. Patch and sensitivity testing

Certain colour and beauty services may require a patch test, allergy alert test or other sensitivity test before treatment.

Where a test is required, it must be completed within the timeframe advised by the salon and/or relevant product manufacturer.

This may apply to colour services, including permanent or semi-permanent colour, tints and certain other chemical or beauty treatments.

A test may also be required for an existing client where:

* There has been a significant change in circumstances

* A different product or formulation is being used

* There has been a previous reaction

* The salon or manufacturer requires a further test

* A sufficient period has passed since the previous test

If a required test has not been completed, we may be unable to provide the treatment.

This is a safety requirement and is not intended to inconvenience clients.

5. Changes in circumstances

Please tell us before your appointment if there has been any relevant change to your health, medication, allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy status or previous treatment history that could affect the service. A previous successful treatment does not necessarily mean that a treatment will always be suitable.

6. Cancellations and rescheduling

We understand that circumstances can change.

We ask clients to provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or move an appointment.

Female Ego cancellation period: 24 HOURS

Where an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less notice than the stated cancellation period, or where a client does not attend, a cancellation charge or loss of a booking deposit may apply where applicable.

Any cancellation charge will be communicated at the time of booking and will be applied fairly and reasonably.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights.

7. Deposits

A deposit may be required for certain appointments.

Where a deposit applies, the amount and conditions will be explained before the appointment is confirmed.

Deposits may be used to secure appointment time and cover reasonable preparation or other costs associated with the booking.

The treatment of a deposit following cancellation or non-attendance will depend on the applicable booking terms.

Any deposit or cancellation provisions will be subject to applicable consumer law.

8. Late arrival

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you arrive late, we will do our best to provide the booked service.

However, where there is insufficient time to complete the service properly or safely, we may need to:

* Shorten the service

* Modify the service

* Reschedule the appointment

A late arrival may be treated as a cancellation where the appointment cannot reasonably be completed.

9. No-shows

If you do not attend your appointment and have not contacted us, we may apply the applicable cancellation or booking terms.

Repeated non-attendance may result in future appointments requiring a deposit or other booking conditions.

10. Results and colour services

Hair colour, colour correction, blonde services, chemical treatments and smoothing services are affected by factors including:

* Existing colour

* Previous chemical treatments

* Hair condition

* Hair history

* Natural pigment

* Home colouring

* Product build-up

* Hair texture

* Previous bleaching or lightening

We will discuss realistic expectations during your consultation. Although we will always aim to achieve the agreed result, an exact colour or result cannot always be guaranteed, particularly where the hair has a complex previous colour history.

11. Hair condition

We will not knowingly carry out a service where we believe doing so would create an unreasonable risk of damage to the client's hair or scalp.

If we believe a requested service is unsuitable, we may recommend an alternative treatment or postpone the service.

Our priority is the health and condition of your hair and scalp.

12. Aftercare

We will provide appropriate aftercare guidance following your treatment. Clients are responsible for following the aftercare advice provided.

The use of unsuitable home products, excessive heat, chemical treatments, swimming, sun exposure or other factors outside our control may affect the longevity or appearance of a treatment.

13. If you are unhappy with your service

We want every client to be happy with their experience. If you are unhappy with your service, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can discuss the issue and, where appropriate, arrange an assessment or corrective appointment.

Where a service has not been provided with reasonable care and skill, we will consider the matter in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.

We ask that you give us the opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, correct a service before arranging corrective work elsewhere.

This does not remove or restrict any statutory rights you may have.

14. Refunds and corrections

Services are provided individually and are not always capable of being returned in the same way as physical products.

Where there is a genuine issue with a service, we will assess the circumstances and determine an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Where appropriate, this may include a correction, repeat service, partial refund or other remedy.

15. Retail products

Where we sell hair or beauty products, product purchases may be subject to separate manufacturer instructions and applicable consumer rights.

Please contact us promptly if a product is faulty or you believe there is an issue with your purchase.

16. Children and young clients

Some services may have age restrictions or may require a parent or guardian to be present or provide consent. We reserve the right to request appropriate parental or guardian involvement where required for the service or by our insurance or professional procedures.

17. Personal belongings

Clients remain responsible for their personal belongings while visiting the salon. We recommend keeping valuable items with you where possible.

We will take reasonable care within the salon but cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

18. Health and safety

For the safety and comfort of clients and staff, clients are expected to follow reasonable salon instructions.

We may refuse or stop a service if:

* A treatment becomes unsafe

* A client behaves aggressively or abusively

* A client fails to follow reasonable safety instructions

* We believe continuing the service could cause harm

* A required consultation or patch test has not been completed

19. Photography and social media

We may ask clients for permission to photograph their hair or treatment results.

Photographs will not be used for promotional purposes without appropriate permission.

Where you have given consent for marketing use, you may withdraw that consent for future use.

20. Personal information

We collect and use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR / Data Protection Notice.

Information relating to consultations, allergies, sensitivities and treatment history may be collected where necessary to provide services safely.

Please see our Privacy Policy for further information.

21. Website information

We aim to ensure that information on our website is accurate and up to date.

However, service availability, prices, promotions and other information may change.

The latest information provided by the salon at the time of booking will apply.

22. Website links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including booking platforms and social media services.

We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites.

23. Complaints

If you have a complaint about our services, please contact the salon directly. We will listen to your concerns and aim to resolve complaints fairly and professionally.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, subject to any applicable consumer rights.

Where a provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
